Teaser Tuesday 8/18

Teaser TuesdayΒ It’s Tuesday, which means I have another tease for you. I hope you don’t get your panties in a bunch over this one, I am still on Bram Stoker’sΒ Dracula. My interest in it comes and goes and I’m having a hard time getting through it. I REALLY hope to have it does by next time this week, but in the meantime, here’s where I am.

Page216: “The Thing in the coffin writhed; and a hideous blood curdling screech came from the opened red lips. The body shook and quivered and twisted in wild contortions; the sharp white teth champed together til the lips were cut and the mouth was smeared with a crimson foam.”

Hope you enjoy! πŸ˜‰

  1. ahhh, the original vampire . . . nicely done. read my teaser here

  2. I love Dracula, give it a chance, I think you’ll end up liking it.

And Kaye, just as point of interest: Varney (1845; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Varney_the_Vampire)predates Dracula by a good 50 years, so if anyone is the original vampire, it’s Varney.

Interestingly enough, my Teaser is vampire related too: http://bryansbookblog.blogspot.com/2009/08/teaser-tuesdays-colere-aux-morts.html

    • Thanks! I am so intrigued by vampire books and how different authors portray them. I read Twilight and The Historian (loved both for different reasons). Interview With A Vampire is on my shelf of To Be Read πŸ™‚

  5. Great teaser! Mine’s here and is from Julia London’s Summer of Two Wishes.

  6. There is so much great descriptive language in that book. Excellent choice for a teaser.

  7. Wow! Vivid and graphic. I really need to read this. Like, soon. So that I know the story that (sort-of) started it all. Great teaser!
